New Year's Resolutions and Recaps

Happy New Year blog readers!

Based on my late blogging, or lack thereof rather, I’ve elected to blog more as my new year’s resolution. Hopefully, I’ll actually stick to it this time.

The holidays have been absolutely wonderful for me. Not only did I manage to avoid Santa’s naughty list and thus a stocking full of coal, I’ve spent a lot of time with my parents, friends, neighbors, and even James! (He lives four hours away which makes seeing him challenging.) I began the holidays with a week or two at home which I mostly spent taking care of everyone on my Christmas list. I thoroughly enjoyed decorating all the presents under the tree. In fact, wrapping presents is one of the things I most look forward to each holiday season!

I spent the Monday and Tuesday before Christmas in Gainesville dancing at basketball games. Both the men and women won their games while I was there! My dad joined me in Gainesville and one night took me and James to see The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, a film I HIGHLY recommend!

This year, we remained in Tampa for Christmas for the first time in a very long time. Mom was thrilled to find some new glassware and dishes with her favorite fleur de lis on them under the tree. Dad was excited to unwrap a nice sweater, beer, and plenty of banana trinkets as usual. I myself cannot complain about a thing. Mom and Dad gave me shiny new silverware, a few great outfits, and a pair of Tory Burch sandals. I was so excited to open them, I wore them around the house all morning!
I'm drinking eggnog on Christmas Eve (in my Christmas PJs) out of a Moose Mug! Just like in Christmas Vacation!

After Christmas, I traveled to Seaside, FL where I stayed with James and his family for about a week! The weather could not have been nicer and the scenery was to die for. We enjoyed walking the beach and riding a bicycle built for two to town. Oh and of course, some shopping! Needless to say, I had a blast!

Today finds me sleeping in late, relishing the last days of winter break. James came back to Tampa with me and we have (much anticipated) plans to dine at my favorite restaurant of all time, Bern’s, on Friday! I am so excited!

Until next time, readers!
