Am I seriously starting a blog?

   For years now the world has spent countless hours bla bla blogging about pretty much everything. From cooking to computers to couture to cats, you can literally find a blog about anything. So if that’s the case, what the heck do I have to offer the world of online bloggers and blog readers alike? Let’s be real here, I’m 21 years old and have lead a fairly privileged life thus far so, not a whole lot.

    I’ve been thinking of delving into my own blog for quite some time now, and have come to the conclusion that I really don’t have anything to lose by starting one, and quite frankly, there is no time like the present to get rolling. Here’s how I put it: If I become famous one day for my hilariously witty and captivating blog, I’ll finally be able to buy myself those amazing Tory Burch shoes I’ve been wanting since… well since I ever knew who Tory Burch was really. (Becoming hilariously witty and captivating is somewhere on my to-do list.) Even if only my mom, dad, and grandma end up reading my blog then I suppose that’s three fewer times I’ll have to repeat myself about my day. And if I am the only human being who ever even glances at my blog… clearly I will have proven myself to be the most non hilariously witty and captivating person on the planet and will be a better person for making this great realization at such a ripe, young age… right?

     Since I’m not much of a blog reader myself, I’m not entirely sure what is customary of a “first blog” but it seems that a brief introduction is in order. Here is my “describe yourself in 30 seconds or less” intro:

Hi, my name is Aja. It’s pronounced “Asia”. No, I am not Asian nor am I a porn star, I was named after the Steely Dan song. I have red hair. I understand the need to make ginger jokes. I currently attend the University of Florida and am majoring in building construction (hence the “Hard Hats” in the title of this blog.) I am more of a girly girl (hence the “High Heels”.) I am a Zeta (only the best!) and also a Dazzler at UF. I’m OBSESSED with HGTV. I love Sex and the City, Weeds, and Family Guy. Coincidentally, those are also the names of my favorite shows. I am an avid Harry Potter fan. I like cats more than dogs. My favorite food is Mexican. I used to be good at the piano. Other interests of mine include wine, the Gators, fraternity boys, wine, the Beatles, pedicures, Kate Spade, and a good glass of Chardonnay.

I swear if you read fast it only takes 30 seconds.

Well, that’s all I’ll write for now except for my little disclaimer- being that I can’t even remember to floss my teeth every day (though I won’t go more than 3 or 4 days without doing so), I doubt that I will manage to blog every day. I know myself too well and it just seems highly unlikely. I’ll shoot for weekly though!
